Since 2019, the one-man-quintet Chester Remington arranges a 60’s and 90’s get-together. Noticed during the Cabaret Vert (Charleville-Mézières, France), the Fifty Lab (Bruxelles, Belgium), the Bars en Trans (Rennes, France), and many other stages since, their sweet and contagious madness, never leaves the audience indierent.
Leading the band, Odilon Horman owns a prolific inspiration out of years spent in the ranks of a multitude of bands. Proof is in the pudding : “Nobody Cares About My 4 Tracks Record” (2020, DIY), “DOLDRUMS” (2022, Le Cèpe Records [FR]), a load of crazy clips, and a warm yet punchy Live Session with “Falling Sun Session” (2023, DIY).

With “ALMOST DEAD”, Chester Remington sets up the foundations of his upcoming discography, and lays on lacquer an album of embraced influences. Refined throughout shows, the recipe shows yet again its eciency : a garage-pysch-grunge concentrate, tracks of unpredictable outcomes, and a sound that only belongs to them.
Darker and more self-reflective yet still filled with the band’s energy, “ALMOST DEAD” paves the way to a first collaboration between À Tant Rêver du Roi (Pau, France) & Howlin Banana (Paris, France) record labels, representing each in their way a facet of Chesterian creations.
Recorded here and there - in studios, live venues, living rooms, on his bed in his room - and on vintage material, this album blends lithium and strawberry fields to approach essential and unifying subjects. From love to death, by way of madness, it unfolds an universe filled with sound wearing familiar faces
See you at the Point Ephémère (Paris) on April’s 11th to celebrate its almost birth, almost death
