Terrestrial Animal is an instrumental post-rock band from the beaches of Wilmington, North Carolina striving to create soundscapes in order to escape reality and become immersed into a dream.
Terrestrial Animal is:
Jason Ward --- guitar
Sid Neel --- bass
Tiff Ellis --- keys
AJ Moore --- drums
Formed in 2018, Terrestrial Animal went through a couple lineup changes. The original drummer, Kenny, was removed by guitarists Jason and Ryan to better fit their vision. AJ was recruited for the drums and they soon had a few demos under their belts and played their first show.
Jason and Ryan originally each had an Octave pedal that they would switch back and forth using to emulate the missing bass player, but after their first show they decided to bring one in. AJ and Sid used to play in a cover band, Klectik Evol, so he got Sid to join Terrestrial Animal.
With the new complete lineup, Terrestrial Animal finished writing their first album, Amorphous Sum, which was released in September of 2019.
From the onset of Covid, Ryan backed out of the band leaving them as a trio. They went on writing new material and started looking for another member. Tiff was brought on to play keys and that solidified the sound they were after.
Terrestrial Animal are in the final recording, mixing and mastering stages of their second album Constant State of Decay; which should be released during the Spring of 2023.
