The Royal Belgian Conspiracy is an indie/folk/alt country band based from Australia. The band is the brainchild of lead singer and songwriter Moozy. Moozy trained as a jazz musician however was always drawn to writing indie folk and alt country music.
Moozy moved to Australia with his family from Belgium as a small child and then grew up in Canberra, and now splits his time between Canberra and Melbourne.
The origins of the band name 'The Royal Belgian Conspiracy' derive from Moozy's Belgian roots and there being a Baron on his father’s side of the family. The 'Conspiracy' reference was simply added for punch.
"Follow" the band on Spotify to hear their new singles and album as they come out.
Moozy's father was a one-hit wonder in Belgium with the single 'Savez-Vous Danser Sans Souliers' which translates in English to 'Can You Dance Without Shoes'. His father cut his teeth playing gigs in Oxford, England. Moozy grew up with his father walking around the house playing his guitar and mumbling melodies as he worked on his latest song. Apart from his hit single, his father never released another track.
