Darwells is a fully rock and roll quartet, with energy that runs pure. Made for the stage where the group's musical universe takes on its full dimension, Darwells doesn't ask questions. They don't intellectualize anything. It's all about instinct, guts, heart, and soul taking control. The amps are already in the red. The riffs are earth-shaking and incendiary. The rhythm section beats and grooves like never before. The flexible and robust voice - in English, mind you - allows the compositions to fully flourish.
While the four boys well-versed in the classics (The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, etc.) have them memorized, Darwells doesn't imitate its prestigious elders at all. It's actually their almost insolent and rebellious talent to propose immediately memorable pieces (anthems?) on the aforementioned classic foundation with other, also Anglo-Saxon, influences. These include, among others: Kings of Leon, The Amazons, Foo Fighters, Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Queens of The Stone Age, Franz Ferdinand, The Kooks,...
Darwells was formed in 2019 in the Avignon region, consisting of Paul Esteve (vocals and guitar), Florent Pillon (guitar), Leo Zandomeneghi (bass), and Pierrick Plantevin (drums). Taking advantage of the 2020 health crisis, Darwells independently recorded their first EP, Drive me home/not crazy. Building on this first experience, Darwells, more united than ever, moved to Lyon in 2021 and joined the Labo du Conservatoire. It's worth noting that Darwells has performed more than twenty times in the second city of France and its surroundings, with concerts that exude rage and sincerity. In 2022, the group recorded four new tracks at La Ciergerie studio in Villeurbanne, also independently, for an EP to be released on October 20, 2023.
