New album “A Drinking Woman’s Words” now avail!
Canadian-born folk-country musician Amanda Von Riesen has captivated listeners with her traditional country sound, creative songwriting, and expressive vocals. Originally from Steinbach, Manitoba, just southeast of Winnipeg, Amanda names Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, and Dwight Yoakam as her musical influences among others.
In 2016, the singer/songwriter helped to form Poets & Lies, a group collaboration that expanded her creativeness and pushed her vocal abilities. From 2016-2020, Poets & Lies earned several nominations from the Manitoba Country Music Awards while performing and recording a studio album. On September 9, 2022, Amanda will release her first solo, full-length album, A Drinking Woman’s Words.
Her belief in a Higher Power has given her a love for creating art and music while traveling the world for inspiration. Amanda is also an accomplished visual artist, having shown and created original work throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Currently living in Nashville, Amanda is the mother of two grown children who share her passion for art, travel, and music.
