Alma Saxophone Quartet was founded in 2019 by four fellows sharing the passion for chamber music and the desire to create innovative projects, in the name of variety and experimentation. Their goal is to bring the saxophone quartet in multiple contexts, and promote its extreme versatility.
For this end, Alma Saxophone Quartet explores the most heterogeneous repertoires, passing with ease from transcriptions of the classical repertoire to jazz, up to the most recent original pieces for this ensemble. Alma Saxophone Quartet seeks mostly collaborations with other young performers and composers, in order to establish a fruitful relationship of mutual appreciation.
The members perform an intense concert activity, playing in important concert halls and music festivals such as: Associazione Filarmónica Umbra, Associazione “Ameria Umbra” (Amelia), “Civita Festival” (Civita Castellana), Associazione Orchestrale da Camera “B. Marcello” (Teramo), Società Aquilana dei Concerti “B. Barattelli”, and Reno Galliera Wind Orchestra, with which they played as soloists the premiere of “Four New Brothers” by Arthur Gottschalk at “Celebrazioni” Theatre in Bologna. They won national and international competitions and have been several collaborations with artists of multiple musical backgrounds such as: Stefano Di Battista, Javier Girotto, Gabriele Mirabassi, Luciano Biondini.
